Following a record third year, Icotherm Roof Systems, the solid conservatory roof expert, has moved operations to a new 15,600 sq. ft. facility in Blackburn. The new premises will triple Icotherm’s manufacturing capacity, so it can continue to meet increased demand for its solid roof system from installers.
Jenny Jackson, Director at Icotherm explains: “This factory move is a really exciting milestone for the whole Icotherm team. We began in a small unit in Bolton, which we have now completely outgrown because of our rapid growth.
“The new manufacturing facility gives us exactly what we need. Crucially, we have a lot more space for material stocks and fabricating roofs but the new premises also offers great break-out areas and modern facilities for the Icotherm team.”
Located in Shadsworth Business Park, Blackburn, Icotherm’s new home has good transport links which will help to maintain fast nationwide delivery times on roofs. Icotherm solid roof is the fully-insulated, fully-ventilated, timber-framed, solid conservatory roof that helps installers get conservatory refurbishments fitted fast.

Solid conservatory roof specialist, Icotherm Roof Systems has reported a record year with a 75 percent increase in sales. After setting up in 2014, the solid conservatory roof manufacturer has enjoyed rapid growth, by fabricating the fast-fitting, fully ventilated, fully insulated Icotherm Solid Roof.
Dave Jackson, the brains behind Icotherm’s design explains: “The last three years have been a real whirlwind for the whole Icotherm team. Since launching the roof in 2014, we have had more and more installation companies approach us, wanting a piece of the growing replacement roof market.
“They all needed a straightforward solid roof system that they could get going with straight away. Many of them have taken advantage of the market and have been retrofitting the roof onto old conservatory frames. Others have been using Icotherm to create new extensions.”
Icotherm’s timber frame roof technology mimics the successful design seen on the majority of the UK’s housing stock. Using timber, a naturally warm, strong and long-life material, the roof is made from special ‘pods’, that are similar to Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs). The full roof is delivered to site with very few components and super-easy adjustment to help installers have a straight-forward and fast fitting process.
Dave adds: “This year’s results are a real credit to the Icotherm team’s hard work and we’re looking forward to another great year in 2018.”
The Icotherm Roof Systems’ team donned fluffy, yellow onesies on Thursday 16 November, to become Team Pudsey and raise money for Children in Need. Overall, the team raised £491.00 with donations from customers, suppliers, friends and family.
Jenny Jackson, Director at Icotherm said: “As soon as I saw the Pudsey outfits in the supermarket, I knew that I needed to get the team involved in Children in Need, so we ordered 18 suits! All of the team, including our delivery drivers, office-based team and factory floor team wore their Pudsey outfits all day and brought a smile to customers and our neighbours!
“I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who donated money to our team fundraising page to support the fantastic cause that is Children in Need.”
Friday’s live Children in Need show saw a record on-the-night total of £50 million and donations can still be made online. Icotherm’s fundraising page is still open – if you would like to contribute, please visit https://www.justgiving.com/companyteams/icotherm.

“I have to give credit to the team at Icotherm. Without them, we wouldn’t be able to maintain the high levels of service and offer such a fantastic product to our customers time and time again.
“As our award entry said: Icotherm Solid Roof is the one component that installers can rely on to be priced right and to fit right so they can sleep tight.”

The brand new Envirotile Natural Slate Tile is available now from Icotherm Solid Roof. It’s backed by an impressive 25-year 8Fix storm-proof manufacturer’s guarantee which runs alongside the 10-year guarantee from Icotherm.
Offering a stunning natural slate finish, the new Envirotile is fast to fit on site with a unique interlocking system and is cost-effective because more square metres can be covered with fewer tiles.
Dave Jackson, the brains behind Icotherm Solid Roof says: “We designed the Icotherm roof to be quick and easy to fit so installers could be on and off-site as quickly as possible and fit in more jobs. Adding Envirotile and Enviroslate to our range of roof finishes will make the process even faster.
“It’s a fantastic product. Envirotile is really lightweight, so it’s the ideal tile for completing solid roof conservatory refurbishments. It’s got a unique interlocking, dry-fix system so there’s no need for any cement. And it has guaranteed performance – it has been weather tested in up to 147mph wind loads.
“The 25-year 8Fix storm-proof guarantee proves the reliability of Envirotile. It runs alongside the existing Icotherm 10-year guarantee for extra peace of mind that installers can offer to homeowners.
“It takes just 11.9 tiles to cover a square metre so it’s a cost-effective finish. Plus, the tile looks great. It really does give a natural slate effect, which is exactly what we need from a lightweight, high-performance roof tile for Icotherm Solid Roof.”
Envirotile is BBA Certified, manufactured from recycled plastic and has a Greenspec award.
Icotherm Solid Roof is the fully insulated, lightweight solid roof conservatory constructed from unique structural timber modular pods. It has a cross ventilation system to eliminate condensation.
Icotherm Solid Roof offers free on-site assistance to first-time installers of the Icotherm roof system, as part of its customer support package.
Dave Jackson, the brains behind the Icotherm roof, explains: “Icotherm Solid Roof has been designed to be quick and easy to install on site. It’s a unique modular roof system created from made-to-measure pods that are a bit like the structural insulated panels (SIPs) used in modular house building.
“The pods offer a high-performing conservatory roof and for first-time Icotherm installers, we offer a free site assist on delivery, to help them install the modular roof system.”
Every Icotherm roof is made-to-measure in the factory in Bolton. The pods are numbered, for straightforward fitting and there’s no need to invest in any special tools.
Dave continues: “Icotherm has very few components and it’s really easy to adapt onsite, so that installers can avoid unnecessary holdups and have the new roof watertight in less than one day. It can be fitted with the tools you’d expect to find in any window installer’s tool kit.
“We organise deliveries so that the roof order and site assistance arrive just after the old conservatory roof has been removed, or when new conservatory frames have been installed and are ready for the roof to go on.
“Then, our Icotherm experts spend a few hours with the installation team, explaining the best ways to fit an Icotherm Solid Roof so that the conservatory can be made watertight in just one day.”
The Icotherm Solid Roof system is fully ventilated and insulated to create a room that homeowners can use all year round.
Icotherm Solid Roof has launched a new website to help installers get easy access to the benefits of the lightweight tiled roof system. The brains behind Icotherm Solid Roof, Dave Jackson says: “The new website has been designed to help the trade get all the information they need on our roof system.
“There’s a ton of information on Building Regulations, including a full guide to LABC and advice on getting building certificates for projects quickly and cost-effectively. The Icotherm system is JHAI approved so installers can get extensions approved by Building Control by filling in a simple form.
“There’s also a free download area, where installers can get access to technical drawings, risk analysis information, as well as installation manuals and videos.”
Icotherm Solid Roof is the prefabricated modular roof system that can be made secure and watertight in as little as three hours. The clever ‘pod’ technology is the key to its super insulation and quick installation. Icotherm Solid Roof is light weight too, so it’s a perfect choice for refurbishing conservatories, as well as building new extensions.
Dave continues: “We have invested in the new website to create a handy sales tool for customers. There are photo galleries showing how Icotherm Solid Roof can transform old, inefficient conservatories into rooms that can be used all year round. Plus, we’ve created detailed diagrams of how the insulated system works to eradicate condensation.”
Replacing a polycarbonate or glass conservatory roof with an Icotherm Solid Roof can be done in as little as one day in seven simple steps.
“Seventy percent of an Icotherm Solid Conservatory Roof is pre-assembled in our factory so there’s far less work to do on site,” says Dave Jackson, the brains behind Icotherm Solid Roof.
“Icotherm is constructed of special pods similar to structural insulated panels (SIPs) used in modular home building. The insulation is made to measure in the factory. The pod system is simple to put together and allows installers to easily adjust the roof onsite if needed. Icotherm suits all conservatory styles and is a high-performance method of replacing or building conservatory roofs.”
An Icotherm Solid Roof is installed in seven easy steps:
Step one — Icotherm delivers pre-assembled roof pods direct to site
Step two — Remove the old conservatory roof
Step three — Fix the pre-cut angled beam around the top of the windows and the central roof spine
Step four — Install the pods in place
Step five — Fix eaves guard around the perimeter and cover the pods with the breather membrane – at this point it’s watertight
Step six — Attach the lightweight tiles
Step seven — Stand back and admire your fast work
Icotherm Solid Roofs are delivered with very few components and the pods are numbered for a straightforward installation. The roof doesn’t require any special tools and can be installed using what you’d find in any window installer’s tool box.
A solid roof watertight in less than two hours is exactly what installers get with Icotherm Solid Roofs. The pre-fabricated modular roof construction it quick and easy to install. The clever pod system includes all insulation, and is ready to fit together with items found in every installers toolbox.
Dave Jackson is the brains behind the highly successful, simple to install, Icotherm Solid Roof. “Replacing a glass or polycarbonate conservatory roof couldn’t be easier with Icotherm. From the moment customers order a roof we offer straightforward schematic drawings which make easy reading for anyone used to fitting conservatories.
“The structural timber modular pods, manufactured in our factory in Bolton, have very few components. The insulation is pre-fitted just like structural insulated panels proven on timber framed buildings. Once made, we number them to make it easier for customers to put them together perfectly on site.
“Many Icotherm roofs are replacing aluminium conservatory roofs and butt up to a house wall. We know that few house walls are perfectly square or true, so we have made a system that is easy to adjust during the installation process.
“The lightweight roof can easily be retrofit in a day including removing the old roof. Typically, the roof can be watertight in an hour or two or even less. The quickest installation time we have recorded so far is just 40 minutes. Icotherm Solid Roofs are also superb for new build extensions.”
Over the last two years Icotherm has built an expert team, that’s worked to perfect the easy to install, fully ventilated, lightweight, tiled solid conservatory roof.
